The multiple localized flood events however cannot be what God was stating in the Genesis account. The intent of the Biblical Flood was to destroy not only all sinful man but also all land animals and birds of the earth except that which were given the opportunity to survive on the Ark. All animals with breathe in its nostrils. Insects and marine animals were NOT part of that judgment. The reason for the Ark was to repopulate the Earth after the flood had killed everything else. If the biblical account of a flood was only localized flooding, then the Ark would be totally unnecessary. People, animals, and birds would have simply migrated out of the reaches of the flood zone. On
top of that would be the life that already existed outside of flood’s reach. What would the Ark accomplish, then? It is illogical reasoning! A worldwide flood event is also
the ONLY way to explain the complex geological record! Thousands of feet of sedimentary rock layers deposited one on top of
the other WITHOUT any erosion between the layers. These water-action (sedimentary) layers contain countless fossils buried
often in mass graveyards usually in piles of evidence including on top of the highest mountaintops all over the world. Here is the dilemma for old earth proponents: If Noah’s Flood is a global
event which all the evidence points to, and the geologic and fossil records confirm it, then the millions and billions of
years that old earth believers profess falls by the wayside. They cannot hold to their faith because nothing is there to support
it now. They cannot refute the flood accounts. But, they cannot accept
it either. Why, you might ask? If you accept the flood account,
then logically speaking the basis for their millions and billions of years gets washed away, because it explains the geological
record which they use as there timeline. Those that have tried to merge
the two faiths together using the old earth concept with the biblical account have a conundrum. To believe in the biblical
account of Noah’s Flood cancels out the possibility of an old-age Earth. So, if the evidence cannot be refuted, then, the only way to accept the flood account and hold to
their old age belief is to make an illogical stand. To hold in desperation to their religion, they will embrace even illogical
concepts and just put on the blinders. Believe in the Word of God. The Biblical Flood was what it says it
was. The Word of God says what it says, means what it means, and is what it is. If you have no preconceived ideas going into
the reading of the biblical account, you will not get anything but a worldwide flood destroying all the earth and all life
outside of the Ark no more than 4500 years ago. Think logically and use common
sense. If man’s idea of truth runs contrary to the Holy Scriptures, then question man’s ideas of truth, NOT GOD’S! And lastly, if the beginning of the Holy Bible is accurate, then maybe the end is as well. Why do you think Satan
has tried so hard to discredit the Genesis account? Think people! |
